LegacyGTurbo
Hi all, Do you guys use convention or synthetic for your LGT? I just took my LGT in for an oil change and was told that my LGT required synthetic oil which was gonna cost me $75. Does subaru really require it? I've been using conventional oil for the last year and never really had a problem. Thoughts and comments welcomed Thanks

lee07
$75, so $25 for a gallon of oil, $10 oem oil filter, labor $40. Do it yourself, buy whatever oil and filter and change it for free, not for $40 This your first oil change for the car?
Lucid
Subaru requires synthetic in the new LGTs, the person you talked to may have thought it was all years, or maybe just wanted to make more money off of you. Use synthetic anyway, and change it yourself.

joeblow
Subaru only requires synthetic because they now brand it. Run whatever oil you feel like. There are threads upon threads about what oil people run in their LGTs. It's cool; I'm with the band
