kongzilla
I guess I'm keeping my CE28's. Will look to buy summer tires next year instead of all seasons.
RuskiTrombone
Good, because I decided I wanted to keep them for a little while. Stand by for pics of them redone in gold instead of black.

RuskiTrombone
Couldn't you do the lips too? I've seen someone paint the lip black with bronze or gold barrel. Looked really good as well.
RuskiTrombone
Looking more like my Mercury Silver with polished lip. I didn't like the chrome look of the mercury silver. The chrome really stood out on a black car. http://imageftw.com/uploads/20121022/6image.jpg
SBT
Mercury Silver on mine doesn't look chrome, it looks more a cross between a silver and a polished gunmetal. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -
SBT
You may actually have a the Rays Metal Coat (RMC) additive which is much shinier than the Mercury Silver - and adds about $200.00 per wheel - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -
dudeondacouch
They weren't RMC. They were Mercury Silver.
kongzilla
So you can take off a two piece inner wheel without dismounting the tire?
dudeondacouch
Of course.

RuskiTrombone
You have to be careful to retorque the inner portion correctly. Apparently the pc shop that did the original black didn't do a good job with that.
SBT
There's a process to it and it's pretty specific. Think Tire Rack had something about the 2- and 3-piece VOLK wheels and torque process and settings for each wheel. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

kongzilla
I still can't get over the polish lip. It would of been better if it was all one color.

RuskiTrombone
Me too, wish I never went black. Guess once you go black, you can still go back.
SBT
Wheels look great. I still can't get over the polish lip. It would of been better if it was all one color. When you're rolling, the polished lip makes it seem like the lip drops in all the way to the spoke mount. Great looking wheel and perfectly accents the LGT lines IMO. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -
