FJuan
I was adding about .2qt every few day's, the engine ran fine at 21psi. Never did a compression test, I just got tired of adding oil and replaced the short block. Yup, I'm in the same position. Tired of adding up to a quart of oil every week or so. Started looking into new forged pistons and a rebuild kit. My wife's balls are delicious.

boxkita
gates timing belt nitrided crank have the machine shop clearance everything for higher rpms (has more piston slap on startup, but allows for more expansion when hot) upgrade your rods - cosworth is good for the pistons, have them coated (helps with heat reduction) use sti heads (with 1mm larger valves) use the full killer-b oil solution (pan, pickup, and windage tray) upgrade to Maxwell Performance or Crawford's high-perf oil pump 04 wrx water pump (doesnt cavitate so easily) ARP bolts DEI gold foll wrap everything that can absorb heat (check out girodisc's build threads) turbo blanket infamous turbo oil line Crawford AOS v2 aeromotive fuel pump when talking to builders, use 8000rpm as your max value, as the machine shop will balance everything for this number, then run at 7k Build my car Boxkita Track days

07spec_b
This time I had a pro shop tear it apart and the piston to wall clearance was so big it destroyed the pistons and block. I did not measure piston to wall clearance during assembly. I took a stock piston out deglazed the cyl walls and dropped in a stock sized aftermarket piston in. How could the clearance be out so much?
