Paradiso
I'm sorry, I really did try searching but didn't have much luck. I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere but all I can find is 3" DP to stock mid pipe discussions. Do I need an adapter of some sort or will the doughnut just seal well enough? Thanks. Mega Users paintpollz Posted August 28, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted August 28, 2012 I don't see how you can put a donut adapter on there without the adapter. I would pony up and buy the adapter, it just ensures a perfect seal. You don't want to have to worry about exhaust leaks. Carbon deposits can build up and cause trouble without one. Paradiso
Wow, somebody replied! Thank you. Can you point me in the direction of the adapter? All I can find are adapters for 3" DP to stock exhaust, not the other way around.
Mega Users paintpollz Posted August 28, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted August 28, 2012 I don't see how you can put a donut gasket on there without the adapter. Carbon deposits can build up and cause trouble without one. gasket is what I meant to say earlier. Theoretically, you could just flip it around. Right? Mega Users paintpollz Posted August 28, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted August 28, 2012 OP, I can speak from experience, that after 30k miles my exhaust sounded terrible from not having an adapter when I had your desired set up.
