I looked everything over and decided I need some more tubing. I bought another intercooler piping kit from Ebay and here is what I have come up with. You will not have fun insatlling the FMIC with just what is supplied in the box. I would not undertake this project without access to a press. After the bumper bar was cut the bumper closed up about 5/8 of an inch. All piping is close enough that I can pull it in the future and have some sections welded to eliminate some silicon. Passenger side fittings done and one extra section used to complete bend. I would have done something differently too, first off I may have spent a little more and got a better fitting unit. Intercooler is HUGE and fitting was a challenge. Then get it tuned. LosAngelesLGT Posted August 23, 2012 Share Posted August 23, 2012 I'm trolling? You actually said it keeps the bumper beam for the most part. IMHO, X02 kept the bumper beam "for the most part". This is a complete bumper beam chop up, although a beautifully done choped up bumper beam. I trust it do the job of the uncut beam about as much as I trust my Perrin bumper beam, not much. If you want a big core, great, but lets not pretend that this keeps most of the bumper beam intact. EDIT: If you want a big core and are willing to chop up the bumper beam you could also consider getting one custom made for you for a little more $$$. As for covering the core, anyone who has had their bumper skin off knows that the bumper beam area is unavoidable to cover without some hideous holes cut in the bumper. The one on the cold side with the kit was 3 inch. I physically do not have room to fit 3 inch pipe between my timing cover and the rad. I have the Mishimoto rad and it is twice as thick as the stock one. I really dont know how much swearing and throwing of tools would have taken place without extra piping. Also, thats a big, low opening to that IC. Might consider some mesh like what you have in your grill, down in the bumper. I can get some mesh from work to cover the bottom openings. Just needed to get it together so I can have this thing tuned. Been working on it for 4 months and now I want to drive it.
