mr walker Posted August 16, 2012 Share Posted August 16, 2012 Along with the many other things I'm doing to my 1996 OBW, I'm hoping to improve the shifter. When I picked up the car, the shifter was a complete joke. No return spring and every bushing was toast. So in addition to replacing the bushings I'm going to try to make a short shifter. The plan is to take out about an inch of material above the pivot to lower the height of the shifter a bit. I will then add an undetermined amount of length below the pivot to actually reduce the throw length. That's where you guys come in. Any opinions on how much should I add below the pivot? Keep in mind that short shifters for the 1990-early 1996 Legacy's are hard to come by...supposedly. Visual aid: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
