seattle guy Posted July 17, 2005 Share Posted July 17, 2005 Hi, I have a humming noise in the transaxel area of car front wheel 2 wheel drive , not in nuetral or park only when under way, gets more pronounced at 30 up to 60 mph, tranny fluid was low for 6 months , half full at about 4.5 pints, i top it off now , differential fluid is changed recently and never low always at F mark. This noise started very low humm and then one dayI got in and drove and heard that indy car engine sound from the transaxle area,... Half shafts recently replaced within one year.... it is a 2.2 litre, automatic 4 speed. 133k mile..............could be bearings or scored gears due to low tranny fluid level???? Im mostlikely going to have to rebuild........what does this entail? i.e parts ect. any help welcome Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
