LGTwagon99
I am looking to pick up a cargo liner for my 98 legacy wagon. I'm having a hard time finding one that isn't either $130 from Weathertech or a $40 universal fit cheapo. I was curious if anyone knows if mats from other generation legacys would work. I could get one from a 2000-2004 model for $60. It looks the same shape-wise, i just want to be sure before i order it. Thanks
Wheelbuilder_25
There will be some difference from newer legacies, they changed from a strut setup on models at least up thru 97, to shocks, which made the trunk wider - somewhat. I've pulled the one from a parts 97 outback and put it into my 09 legacy sedan. It fits close enough for me, there is about 1-2 inches where it bunches up in the newer car. I'm thinking it would be a tighter fit going from new to old, but might be acceptable if you aren't a stickler. (I guess mine's in a trunk, I don't look at it often. I might feel differently in the wagon) Have you checked at a junkyard ? Aaron
LGTwagon99
Well I bought a liner for 00 to 04, doesn't fit. I am kinda picky, so I guess the search continues! Haven't tried a junkyard, may have to..
