Geo_08
So I had my exhaust replaced in December.. Everything from the second cat back. I now have a p0420 code being thrown. It says bank 1, so I am guessing that is the front cat from what I have read. The mechanic I talked to suggests resetting the code, see if it comes back on. We have had some hot weather recently. He says in his experience wierd weather patterns can cause that. I am skeptical, but thought I would try it. Any merit to this? Also unhooking the battery for a couple hours, how does that work? Bassnectar
you can unhook the battery for 10 seconds and it should reset your engine codes, but if the issue with the 02 is still there pop right back on again. my friends only goes on in really cold weather -10 F. there isn't really a backup battery for the ecu so removing battery power causes a reset and the ecu begins to learn and adjust from how you drive it afterwards
