DJM891
Well, I will start by saying this was my 2nd head gasket job on a Subaru, third over all. I got everything back together fine, or so it seemed, but the car refuses to start. Car turns over normally does not appear to be any interference Timing is correct, aligned on II marks as shown in Subaru literature There is spark as tested on wire There is fuel pressure to the intake manifold via the fuel lines Will not fire even with Starter Fluid, not even a pop. If there is spark, and you use starter fluid, would there not be at least a puff, backfire, something? Is there a possibility that hooking the fuel lines up reversed (i DID do this at first) could have damaged something in the FI system? And if so, would the starter fluid not make it at least do something? Just thought I would see what the experts thought, before I give up and replace the whole motor (has 160 K ran fairly well before this but pushed coolant out of radiator cap) I have searched extensively for a solution all over the web but nothing seems to speak to this issue, or I just cant figure out how to search for it.
