parado25
I wanted to know the best approach for lowering my 2003 2.5GT because I just bought a set of 18" rims. What would be the best approach to changing the suspension for a cost-friendly price? I don't know much about suspension so can anyone tell me what I would need? shocks? springs? coils? Thanks! Much appreciated!
02_GT_Limited
I have an 02 LGT and would like the same info. I was thinking about lowering and putting 17s cause i thought 18s might be a bit big. apexjapan2
Defo get in contact with Paul@AVO - since we've run quite a few BE era Legacys on lotsa different suspenders, he can really help. Personally, I like my set up, but then again, I would say that I can live with some knobbly low speed ride to get the sort of express speed safety and stability I want, so I tend to set mine a little stiffer than some (they are adjustable, so the hit can be made nice and soft too, set to hard for those moments when some whoop ar5e is gonna be dealt ). It all comes down to your priorities, and your ability to convey them to the guys trying to help. I run Tokico dampers, Eibach springs, Whiteline ARBs, ALK. This set up is for handling and braking - not a big quarter miler so never set it for that, but it could prolly do a decent job if I wanted to go that path. Not height adjustable tho, but there are plenty of options if you want to go that route... (I ski a lot, so they'd be fixed height in no time without lotsa TLC ). 03wagon
You have any pics of the car with 18's? I need new tires soon and am debating getting some bigger wheels when I do, so I have been trying to find as many pics as I can. I would check out iON's springs, I have read a lot of good reviews on them and they offer the perfect amount of drop IMO. LetItSnow
I am very pleased with the suspension I chose: Whiteline swaybar and springs, and KYB GR2 struts.
Chris
Here is my '05 Baja-T with 18" Forester STI wheels and ION Performance lowering springs. The car is level, the body cladding on the rear makes it appear to be lower in the back. Ride quality is good - the rear is a little bouncy. I have a second set of ION front springs enroute, they will lower the front another 30mm (about an inch). http://www.icstew.com/baja/suspension/profile.jpg
