My socket was pretty much burnt up (I think water dripped into it after popping my trunk after a car wash) and when it was burnt out, my tail light didn't work, but my brake light did. I have changed out the socket, and now my tail light works but my brake light doesn't. From what I have read, from different car forums, it is the ground line. However, I am not sure what I am looking for, because they don't really say much more than "Check your ground line". Check for what? If you have any input whatsoever, please give it.
