tbperry
I was driving home in a heavy rain rain Sunday on a highway, going about 80 or so, and when i pushed on the brakes to slow down, they felt a bit mushy and my car pulled to the right. I thought maybe i had some water on them or something and pumped them somewhat and the problem went away. Awhile later, it did the same thing. Then again, but only this time, it pulled left! Today driving into work, no rain, it was fine as far as I can tell. I did some searching on this but couldn't find anything really conclusive. Ideas of what is wrong? Thx for your help. Heedz
Could be brakes, look at your pads feel for grooving on your rotors. Also could be your LCA rear bushing that tends to go out on our cars. Your alignment may be off. Check your tires and wear that will also give you a bit clue. When's the last time your system was bled, might have a bubble on the left side. Since you mention rain I could suspect tire but who knows I would check EVERYTHING since it's a safety issue, lemme know how it goes.
tbperry
pads and rotors are fine, just took all that apart tonight. if it was my alignment wouldn't it have been a constant problem? after driving again today it doesn't seem to be an issue? also tires are new... I will keep checking a few other things...
FJuan
Bleed the system. Just to add, I had something close to your issue. Take out the slide pins and inspect the rubber seals on the pins. There's a rubber seal on one pin on each side, the other pin is straight metal. Both my rubber seals slipped off and seized those pins from sliding in/out. Causing vibration and occasional pulls to one side. Ended up taking out the rubber seals and replacing the pins back in. Haven't had any other problems since. My wife's balls are delicious. AZP Installs
Every 3 years you need to flush the brake system, if you haven't done it lately, I would start there. Could have been wet rotors as well. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. tbperry
thx everyone for the advice, i have been checking everything, and it all looks good, bleeding the system later today still. I still haven't had this issue repeated since that day, so I am really leaning towards the wet rotors explanation...
