TexasLegacy2.5GT Posted April 26, 2012 Share Posted April 26, 2012 I have a set of 17X8 wheels +45 offset on P245/45/R17 rubber. I tried to put them on today and realized that the rear won't fit. I would like to hear from the members that have wheels and tires this size and what they did for fitment issues. These wheels I have are off of an 02' STI and supposedly they fit not problem. For the most part I see people with a P225/40/xx tire mounted on either a 16 or 17 inch wheel. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm going to try 235 with a spacer tomorrow. I ran out of time today. Do you think the 04' STI suspension gives you a better clearance for your wheels then the stock OEM GT set up? I had to roll my rear fenders but other than that, no problems. I would think that the 45 aspect ratio of your tires w/ a +48 puts your tire in too far. Spacers (or coils) would really be your only option with those tires. How much do your tires touch the perches? I'm a native of South Carolina. I am a dying breed. subikid90 Posted April 27, 2012 Share Posted April 27, 2012 I have 17x7.5 +35 with a 225/45r/17 and I have tons of room before I hit the spring perch. I also fit very flush with the fenders front and rear. Wiclipse95 Posted April 27, 2012 Share Posted April 27, 2012 I have a set of Volk 18x7.5 that fit great. I was told when I bought the that18x8 wouldn't fit, that it would be to wide. I know you can buy hub extensions but they are gonna stick out a little more than is ideal, and it can mess up your axles after time. I would see if anybody wants to trade. TexasLegacy2.5GT Posted April 29, 2012 Author Share Posted April 29, 2012 Well, after my 245/45/17 fail on stock suspension I went down to 234/40/17 rubber and they fit no problem. wish Posted May 3, 2012 Share Posted May 3, 2012 20lbs ain't bad for 17x8. Mine are 18lbs but they're 17x7. Just dropped the car off at the tire shop to mount 225/45/17 sumimoto summers I got off my friend for $50. He bought 17x8 OZs and these came on them. He replaced them with 255s for Autocross. I have plenty of space next to the struts, but need to pull and roll my rear fenders, and get an alignment.
