AZP Installs
We have a fender roller that we rent out with heat gun, but our insurance doesn't cover us on body work -Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg%5Dhttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Buzzman
If anyone was wondering, I went to a place by the name of JDS Motoring. Let's just say I wasn't satisfied with the quality of their work. Sanded my fender lip down, primed it and plastidip in hopes that it will not rust. The paint was cracked pretty badly from the fender roll.
AZP Installs
Ouch Sorry to hear that. That's why we don't do it cause it's very tricky. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Buzzman
As a shop I can understand, there would be too much liability on your part. Let's hope my poor man's remedy is enough.
Buzzman
I've heard good things about Area 1320 though, if anyone is looking at this thread. Don't make the mistake I made. Screwed myself over.
Drogos
Guys. You are making bigger deal out of it than it really is. 2 people, jack, heat gun and $3 -3" PCV pipe from HD (the soft black one). Jack up the car just so you could get some room between fender and tire. Heat it up well, don't over do or you will toast the paint and work your way through the fender in small sections. 30min work for 2 people. I did one car with fender roller and another one with pipe and I think pipe is actually faster and safer
AZP Installs
As a shop I can understand, there would be too much liability on your part. Let's hope my poor man's remedy is enough. More than just the actual liability end of things, since we don't specialize in that sort of thing, we don't want someone to get their car ruined under our watch. We treat every car that comes through the door as our own, and as such just don't feel comfy. I absolutely hate shops that "learn" on customer cars or claim they can do everything for a customer. Funny you mention Area 1320, we are currently setting up a fender rolling day where they are going to come in and do fender rolling for folks and we'll have a BBQ at our shop. -mike
Buzzman
Yeah I gotchya, unfortunately the shop I went to didn't practice that philosophy. Btw, I'm going to get coilovers this summer, mike, if I travel to you guys can you help me adjust them appropriately. I'm really new to suspension and literally have no clue what I'm doing aside from the wealth of information I read on this site. I think I need an alignment, too, so if you guys could do both that would be even better haha.
AZP Installs
Not a problem, we'll help you out on an alignment and adjust them.
