roundthirteen
More newb's car maintenance then maintain my newb status. My 08 Spec B has ~69,000 and so far I've done this- Red Line 5w-30 OEM filter NGK Iridium plugs Trans/Rear diff change extra-S PCV valve change Coolant flush (Subie dealer did it) I was wondering about these things people usually change but am uncertain of on the new car. Fuel Filter (where and when do we change them) Also I have been reading about the Turbo Oil supply banjo bolt. I couldn't tell if this was an issue with 08+ cars Any other advice is appreciated. My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
mr.hicksta
Banjo bolt isn't an issue with the 08s. You can check the brake pads, bleed the brakes, rotate the tires and replace the cabin air filter as well. The only fuel filter I know of is on the bottom of the fuel pump, which can be found underneath rear passenger seat. Dunno that you'd actually need to swap that out unless of course you were upgrading to a different fuel pump. There are other maintenance items at 60K as well, but I don't know them off the top of my head since I'm at 43K .

roundthirteen
Thanks- I have some brake pads waiting to go on. I was thinking of getting stainless lines to put on at the same time. I had to change an axle seal so I saw the pads, their ok but noisy and dusty so I'm betting they're Hawks. Got new tires on her as well. BDII
Stainless lines are a great upgrade! I'm not a fan of hawks. Need forum help? Private Message legGTLT
roundthirteen
Stainless lines are a great upgrade! I'm not a fan of hawks. Yeah neither am I, even when I use to auto cross I'd only put the dusty, noisy, rotor eating pads on for the even then take them off after. I got a deal on the Stop Techs so I thought I'd give them a try. My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com

roundthirteen
gonna autocross this car? Possibly, not sure yet. It's been a few years and the last car I auto crossed was a 140whp fwd nutsack. If they're the Stoptech street performance pads, prepare to either clean them once every few days or to live with perpetually dirty wheels. They DUST like no other... but with a great bite at all temps and resistance to fading, it's a decent tradeoff IMO.
