Jimblaz
When my car is on but the lights are turned off the HIDs will flicker and flash but only if the e-brake is released completely. Lately one of the bulbs has a slight purple hue as well. Any ideas about whats going on? Its pretty confusing

Mega Users paintpollz Posted April 16, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted April 16, 2012 your DLR is your hids either get a relay or disable your DRL how to disable? search correct. its because you have your headlights off. everytime you release the E brake with the headlights off it turns on the DRL. There is not enough voltage in DRL mode to power the ballasts for the HIDs, so they flicker. Just leave your HIDs on at all times. If you have a relay, which I'm assuming you do, it will turn your low beams off when you shut the car off anyways. "Remember Danny - Two wrongs don't make a right but three rights make a left." Mega Users paintpollz Posted April 16, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted April 16, 2012 or unplug your DRL, you 05-06 owners have it easy. I just never turn my lights off. problem solved.
