tymerrillchem
I'm in the process of rebuilding a 2005 Legacy GT 5EAT, and am in need of replacing the main bearings. I've looked around for replacements and it appears I have two options - either a #5 position or a #3 position. This might be an dumb question, but does anyone know what this is talking about or how to tell which one I need since the position isn't model or VIN specific? BAC5.2
Location of the thrust bearing. The older cars had the thrust bearing in the middle of the crank (#3 position), the newer cars had the thrust bearing at the end of the crank (#5 position). You have a #5 position engine.
