DIY Coolant Overflow

Recommended Posts

So after I installed my RacerX FMIC I decided to come up with something so the cold side pipe wasn't jammed in-between the motor and coolant overflow. Heres what I came up with and it didn't cost me anything due to already having anything but can't imagine this would cost more than $10-$15. I didn't want to pay $140 for the Perrin

1. I Had 2 (one silver and one green) of these bottles at my work. Perrins can measures 3" diameter x 6" tall. This is exactly the same.

2. I used the dremel to make the cap flush. Drilled 1/4" hole. Used 1/4" fuel line to replace the stock. 2 feet will be plenty, just cut off what you don't need.

3. Put a self tapping screw in it so the zip-tie couldn't slip. Also put gasket maker on the screw so it doesn't leak.

4. Other mounting pics. As you can see it sits on the pipe nice and has plenty of clearance from the FMIC pipe.

So far so good. No rattles / vibrations / movement. If any issues do arise I will address them and update here.
