I'm trying to replace the stock HU with a double-din Clarion that I purchased through Crutchfield along with the accompanying new face plate and related installation accessories. The crutchfield instructions state that after removing all the trim panels and the six screws securing the stereo and climate controls, I need to release the climate control cable under the driver's side dash. Only then can I pull out the stereo and cc? I released the cable housing from the pressure clip, but cannot seem to remove the circular cable ring from the white post. If I do, I fear I'll never get it back on, given how hard it is to access. Questions: Is there a way to remove and replace the stereo without messing with the CC? If not, any suggestions on releasing that cable would be much appreciated! I've seen related posts, but the process still isn't clear to me. THANK YOU!
