LowFast
As some of you know we sold the Spec-B awhile back and the wife traded up to an IS-F. I am back to driving the truck. I thought I would post a few pictures of what I have been working on the past year. Finally set it back down on all four wheels last weekend. 1965 Ford Falcon Hardtop. Full protouring independent front suspension and triangulated 4-link out back, adjustable coilovers all around. 18x8 with 245's up front and huge 18x11 with 315's out back, tires are Kuhmo XS. Wilwood 6 pistons up front and two piston floaters out back. I have a 06 Mustang GT 4.6 and 5 speed to go in, stock with headers and exhaust should make around 350hp, once I get the heads ported, agressive cams, intake, etc I will be looking at around 450hp at the crank. 450hp in a 2800lb car should scoot and have room for the whole family. Few pictures sitting close to ride height, when done it will sit an additional inch lower up front for a nice subtle rake.: http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/6633/march102012047.th.jpg http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/332/march102012040.th.jpg http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/8326/march102012033.th.jpg http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/7572/march102012032.th.jpg http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/3262/march102012023.th.jpg http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/5028/march102012042.th.jpg http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/8908/march102012016.th.jpg http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/2153/march102012013.th.jpg http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/8720/march62012download015.th.jpg http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/5584/march62012download012.th.jpg http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/3349/071711download138.th.jpg http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/7785/july262011download008.th.jpg
RallyNavvie
Those brakes are hot. I'm a bit surprised to see them in a classic but then I've always wondered why people don't go heavier on brake upgrades in those big slabs of metal (unless they're into the whole OE parts thing for show). LowFast
This build is intended for "go" not show. I am a self admitted brake whore, so when I started the project massive brakes were number one on the list of the places I planned to "waste" money. When done this should make a nice little autocross/open track car.

As am I, that's why that was the only thing I felt I could comment on. My favorite part on my Spec B are the big Stoptech brakes front and rear, not the AVO 450 and the engine build My tuning route has always been tires, suspension, brakes, power, then minor other performance items. I never understood why people want to add power without also increasing their ability to stop. Tires go a long way, but if you're going to the track you need brakes that can stand the heavy use. That's awesome that you're going to track that car, I loved seeing built classics at the track when I used to do high-speed stuff. Get some pics when you take it out to auto-x! rpoz28
Very nice build. I think Pro-Touring like what you're doing is what's going to keep the muscle cars alive for quite a while. +1 on the brakes. I just bought some STI Brembos for my LGT, but I also have a 1971 SS454 Monte Carlo that will be getting a Baer setup in addition to some other bolt-on suspension mods. Good job! LowFast
Yep, I love the old body styles but not willing to give up modern day handling, power and stopping. It has been a fun project so far and truthfully, given all the hardware, reasonably affordable to do. Figured it better to sink the money into a classic that might retain some value than into a newer car that will continue to drop.
