I have a 2007 legacy 2.5i

I am getting new tires soon. I am not sure what size to go with.

Car is lowered .9 in front and back.

Wheels are 17x7.5 +45. Current tires are 215/50/17.

I was thinking about doing 225/45/17 or 235/45/17

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

235 will be bigger than stock size. OEM is 205/50 17. 225/45 works well and stays about the same size if you want a wider tire.

Current: 16 Crosstrek Premium w/ Eyesight & 05 Outback XT 5MT

Past Subies: 14 FXT Premium, 14 WRX hatch, 06 Legacy 2.5i SE 5MT, 98 Outback wagon

search for one of the tire /wheel calculators and play with in and pay attention to how much percent off based on diameter etc. you would be with various sizes as long as you are under about 3 % difference than the stock on your car you are probably okay,, better to be under 2% in my opinion

this is one of the better ones.

also look at the top of this forum for the faq thread to see what tire widths fit on varioius rim sizes.. If there are say 3 rim widths you are best to stay with the middle one.

the harder problem is if you go too wide it may not fit without fender rolling etc.. and that is dependent on the car itself and you have to search to find that info and what various people have done.. Hope some of this rambling helps
