havanahjoe
My 08 Spec B makes a whining noise when the engine revs above 2k RPM. It seems to happen more often when the car warms up, but it can happen when cold too. Yesterday I caught it doing it at idle around 1K, but it would go away as acceleration varied. This happens while in motion or when not moving. I recorded the following video. You can hear it when the revs dip under 1K. Since it's just engine, and it goes away as it drops below 2K, I am thinking belt? Car has 55k miles. Thanks! havanahjoe
my 08's belts need to be replaced and recently started making the same sound. the belts look cracked pretty well Thanks. My belts were replaced by Msprank as part of the 30k service, so it would mean they got bad in 25k. I'll have to take a look at them.
xt2005bonbon
that'd be helpful to do another recording from the outside much closer to the engine bay with the hood open. You'd obviously need another person to rev the engine.
