jasejase
yep... Only two issues so far, both from 09's... odd that the bolt pattern would be off on the 09 by some a small amount.
Grrupt
Same exact problems. I have an 08 btw. As you can see in my pics I was able to use 4 holes and missing the 3rd bottom hole on the vertical, which should be below the L in this first pic. I guess its my turn to contact them. http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy153/grrupt/08%20Legacy/IMG_1662.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy153/grrupt/08%20Legacy/IMG_1667.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy153/grrupt/08%20Legacy/IMG_1669.jpg
jasejase
We're all missing (more or less) the third bottom hole. 08-09s I think have that issue. Nonetheless... Seems like the holes u do have dont line up. plain ol weird. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jasejase
Wonder if the holes vary a little on some runs... Not sure why though I assume they r for body work repairs, so precision isn't likely warranted at the factory. Grrupt
Yea probably. Just sucks that it doesn't work, I was really looking forward to testing it out.
jasejase
on mine, if i leave the bottom bolt out (inner lower bolt, closest to firewall), it lines up just about 100% to the MC. But the bolt won't go in the lower hole. Yours almost looks worse off.
bmx045
Oh btw the lowest hole in the mcb i did not have a hole for in my strut tower. I just left it as is. Works fine otherwise.

Thats why its all pushed over, you dont need the wiring holder. Bend the fuel one so all the hoses fit in their slots http://img.tapatalk.com/c6e4c1f2-113a-19f2.jpg
jasejase
Or put the gold one on the other side of the bracket Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
underground000
Start with the Vertical holes first, 1st should be the very top Then move to the other 2 holes Do not tighten everything down. test fit the nut and red cup. adjust brace by moving it forward (I also had the not enough room, was fixed w/ pushing brace forward) Tighten down the 4 mounting screws Tighten nut/locking nut *there is play in the brace and the holes, so it needs to be pushed all the way forward 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)
Grrupt
I hammered them both down and figure i wouldn't make much of a difference, but I'll give it a go again tomorrow. My arms can only take so many cuts. Thanks for the replies.
bmx045
I dont understand how you put both those brackets behind the brace, it makes the bracket crooked and not flush with the strut tower as well as pushed the unit too far towards the engine, that didn't cross your mind when you noticed the red cap not fitting? jasejase
Tried it both ways man. On mine, it aligned better behind the brace actually. I tried it three or four different ways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chris GTO TT
You are supposed to put both brackets back on but you have to flatten the 'wings' on the wiring harness bracket. Mine fit just fine with both brackets. 2003 Baja 5MT 2016 Outback 2.5i Premium w/Eyesight
bmx045
The wiring one is stupid, unnecessary, the brace is more important.

I was hopeful at best since the brace showed tall tale signs of it not aligning right without any bolts or brackets in. I was already missing the 5th bolt hole so I knew I had a problem. The bottom of the brace is really close to the bottom of the MBC and I eyeballed the red cap to still push against the MBC on the top half only. So i figure maybe If i torque down the two bolts with brackets a lot it might still work. Oh well I'll try without the gold bracket and moving the gas line bracket later today. jasejase
http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy153/grrupt/08%20Legacy/IMG_1662.jpg Looking at grrupts picture above here... it looks very similiar to the picture of my holes (no comment). The best way for me to describe it is, if the lower hole was in the center of the sticker outline, the brace would work for me. Grrupts sticker residue appears to be in the exact same places as mine.... Off center. Assuming a robot is putting these on, perhaps a few were slightly off somehow in production. Who knows, just thinking out loud.
bmx045
His holes are the same as mine, and it fits fine using my method.
jasejase
hmm. so much for that theory. If i can snag a drill press today, i may try to alter my bracket (enlarge my hole) and throw it on.
Grrupt
Following your guys advice I was able to get it to work I suppose. This is as close I could get it to the center. Guys think this is fine? Mayn you basically have to flatten out that gas line bracket... http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy153/grrupt/08%20Legacy/IMG_1688.jpg
