LegacyDan Posted February 13, 2012 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Took this 5MT gearbox from the crashed jdm legacy i bought. seems like some weird wear on the end of the shaft coming out of the front of the box: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/desperatedano/IMG_20120209_172625.jpg Any idea what could cause that and if it would have a detrimental affect on the gearbox if it was used in another car again? My mechanic said he thinks wrong size clutch may have been fitted by previous owner. if the surface can be easily resurfaced to smooth it out again i can sell it, if not i wouldn't like passing it on to someone if it will cause them problems down the line.
