skimaw
I'm replacing the timing belt next week on my '06 Spec.B. I'll buy the Gates Racing replacement kit and do the water pump, pulleys, and tensioner at the same time. I'm thinking of replacing the main pulley with a Cobb or similar main pulley. Is this something that will require a tune? I have done nothing to the car yet, as it's currently my wife's daily driver. I figure if I'm going to be in there, I might as well do whatever I can. I'll get it back in 4 months or so, and the serious changes will happen then. Just seeing if I can get a head start, or of it's worth it.
bettner12
no you won't need a tune, but a custom tune for the car will helpful more than a LWCP. Subaru doesn't put their best work in the factory base map...
AZP Installs
Save your money on the racing belt. The regular gates kit is more than enough and the usual point of failure is one of the pulleys (idler or tensioner) not the belt itself. Dont need the Light Weight Pulley, and if you plan to do the LWFlywheel, you cant use it in conjunction with a LWPulley. Let us know if we can provide the gates kit for you as well. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
