severedevil
sounds like a vacuum leak. too dark to really see. now i just got a new head because the cams were shot on the driver side. new belt, new plugs. now it drives fine and idles ok. but after about 15seconds of idle it starts to run rough. and there's a loud sucking sound coming out the air intake where the filter is. didn't sound normal but im not sure. its a 97 legacy gt. any input? Bigdaddy41301
Does it have a filter in it? Without one it will be loud like that
severedevil
yes it has a filter maybe its not on all the way but would not being on all the way cause a rough idle?

johnegg
there is a large 1"+ hose that attaches under the black plastic tubing that runs from the air filter box to the throttle body. impossible to see. it leads , eventually, to the PCV.
