Dragoeth
I recently started getting an noise when shifting out of first gear into second. Its not a grind but sounds like metal scraping and I feel a very slight vibration in the knob. At first I thought it was a synchronizer but it doesn't really appear to be. The intensity of the noise doesn't depend on rpm but rather my speed. I hear it after getting up to 10 mph but even if I'm going 20 in first and shift to second the noise is the same whether I shift immediately or wait till my rpm drops to either the right rpm mathc or even idle speed. I'm going to go ahead and get a fluid change tomorrow to see if that helps but I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what it might be?
jasejase
what car/tranny you have? how many miles? Any recent work? Either way - fluid change is a safe bet... and one that is warranted every 30k miles or so.
Dragoeth
Right forgot that info... 2006 legacy gt with 5MT and 124000 miles. Recent work was just got an oil change 1000 miles ago, new clutch kit, flywheel, and TOB 5000 miles and 3 months ago after my TOB blew.
jasejase
Hmmm....I had a throw out bearing go shortly after a clutch install once, but it was more of a rattle noise. It turned out to be a bad tob Try the fluid change, but I would still be concerned even if it cleared up. Did u have a shop do the clutch? Maybe kick it back to them for a looksie I'm not much of a subie trans expert. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
