quick4dr
just got me new eclipse 16-pin harness in to soon mount up my eclipse single DIN in new JDM dash. Basic question: do i just solder up each corresponding wire in the harness? To attach the red and orange to the already made connection whats the best recommended method? just strip a portion and attach the leads in? mr.hicksta
Soldering will give you the most secure connection, but it's the most time consuming. I stripped the ends, twisted them up and wrapped them in electrical tape.
quick4dr
I'm going to solder cause its easy for me, but havent done stereo in ages, just wanted to double check the color to color matching.
mr.hicksta
Oh well that'll vary some with different head units. Do you have the manual? It should lay it out in there.

EJH
solder + heat shrink tubing - it doesn't take that much more time to do it right!
garbo41610
solder + heat shrink tubing - it doesn't take that much more time to do it right! +1. This should be the ONLY method. Or, instead of using the old twist and tape methed you could just use prechewed chewing gum.
