new ECU?

Recommended Posts

Do some research on the forum, unless your ecu is somehow broken there is no reason to replace it. There are plenty of ways to upgrade the performance of your car, and no reasons that I can think of to put in a different ecu.

With subies you don't need need a new ECU to change fuel mapping/valve timing ect. you just need a way to access and reprogram your existing ECU. The two main options are Cobb AccessPort, or getting a Vag-com cable from ebay and getting an open-source tune from the interwebs (search for Infamous on this forum).

Are you looking to just get a new tune or do mods as well? Most mods you do to the car need a custom tune to go with them to keep your car from blowing up.
