Nrw
Why do you need a new ecu?
bmx045
the accessport is not an ECU. there's no logical reason to get a different/standalone/fuel management ECU in these cars. I'm trying real hard not to rip you apart noob!
ChefRacer
Do some research on the forum, unless your ecu is somehow broken there is no reason to replace it. There are plenty of ways to upgrade the performance of your car, and no reasons that I can think of to put in a different ecu.
greatredbear
you put a new aftermarket performance ecu in any other car to deal with fuel management and valve timing if your wanting to upgrade the car more. i guess its different for subbies though. bmx045
AVCS is already integrated into our 32bit ECU's. People are running 400+whp on stock ecu's with methanol injection, etc.
Nrw
Yea these ECU's are modifiable via laptop or accessport. I thought your bricked yours somehow.
Berzerklo
With subies you don't need need a new ECU to change fuel mapping/valve timing ect. you just need a way to access and reprogram your existing ECU. The two main options are Cobb AccessPort, or getting a Vag-com cable from ebay and getting an open-source tune from the interwebs (search for Infamous on this forum). Are you looking to just get a new tune or do mods as well? Most mods you do to the car need a custom tune to go with them to keep your car from blowing up. ChefRacer
Well then you need a Tactrix cable or an Accessport. What are your goals for the car in the long term?
