RShaw
Right now i have 245 40 r18s on them just because i had them, but i dont think i want to deal with the rubbing. I have done quite a bit of reading on here, but i would like to hear first hand that someone has fit 2xx xx r18 with this rim without rubbing to badly, i am prepared to roll the fenders a little. I know i could use a 225 40 but can i go any wider? And what would look best. Thanks!
LegacyDan
i have a 235/40/18 on an 18 x 8 and only rubs on full lock off the arch liner. thats sitting on jdm Bilsteins with STI pinks, about 20mm drop
joedirtae09
ive got 225/40/18 on 18x8 wheels with stock struts and cobb springs... the cobb springs are a pretty agressive drop, no rubbing at all for me!
chutrain
245/40/18 all around on 18x8.5 ET48. Roll front and rear, and a very slight pull on the front fenders. Dropped on Swifts with Konis.

chutrain
Just stating that not much needs to be done if rubbing is the issue. On a 18x8 wheel, 235/40 would probably look best.
whitetiger
245/35/18 is closest to stock wheel diameter.
StoplightAssassin
running 245/40/18 on 18x8 +48 ssr comps. Tires haven't rubbed since I raised the car up a bit and rolled the fenders.
RShaw
Hmm well before i buy new tires im gunna try to make the 245s work since its obviously possible. What do you guys do about the front inner fender liners? I was thinking i could either cut some of that rib out, or try to heatgun and flatten it. Im talking about where it meets the outside of the fender.
StoplightAssassin
I never had to touch it.
chutrain
Don't need to touch the liner. If you roll the lips, don't go too far as you want enough to catch.

RShaw
Stoplight, do you have any side profile pics of your car? Just so i can get an idea of what to set my height at. Usually i dont do this much research but my tophat is getting rebuilt so itl be a while before i can do anything. So for now all i can do is stare at my parked car and plan. RShaw
Note the lack of coil overs in the rear.
StoplightAssassin
This is about the best I can do from when I first put them on last year. The car sits just a little bit higher now than in this pic. I also have -1.5 camber up front and -1.2 in the rear. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll37/jjbhoops30/SSRs_Black_zoomedout.jpg?t=1275354336
