Vinny78
hey guys ive been a little worried about my trans. Heres a little info on my car, it has 71k on it and had BG transflush at 60k. As of now transfluid level and condition is good. Now heres the problem, in mornings i been getting harsh shifts mainly going into 2nd and 3rd almost like a bang, i also been noticing some slippage i guess u could call it. Between 2nd and 3rd gear going around corners i let off gas and get back on and thats when i experience it. i cleared memory twice with our subaru select monitor at work. All the mechanics at my subaru dealership i work at tell me its normal and that they have never had problems with my year 4eat . what do u guys think? Thanks Vinny

Vinny78
if you have this problem, bring your car to dealer, theres actually a bullentin on this problem and it will be covered under warranty. Basically alls they do is hook up there select monitor and clear memory2 then relearn tcm, i had it done today and it took care of my problem. joop1987
This is a common problem for us 5EAT owners. I reset my TCU with a $15 VAG-COM cable and it's shifting smooth since. Here's the 5EAT thered with the same issue: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/5eat-tranny-issues-shifting-slippingi-157740p3.html (If you live around the Trenton area of NJ you can borrow my cable.)
