frflcraig
Hello, I'm new to this forum and new to legacies, also somewhat of a noob when it comes to wheel/ suspension fitment. Im looking at getting a '97 Legacy ob wagon and my question is can I run 18 inch wheels on stock suspension? If so what is the widest I can go? Im looking to spend as little money on this car as possible so I want to avoid rolling the fenders or upgrading the suspension if I don't have to. Im also looking at just buying some used wheels/tires to save money but I need to know what will and wont fit.
lulzcow
Stick with 16's if you aren't ready to upgrade your suspension yet.
Stang70Fastback
But 17s will work on stock! (I hope, because that's my plan.)
Kennyfvholla
STi sized wheels work perfectly with no modifications necessary while running 215/45R17 sized tires. That's my plan sometime in the future. You can also lower the car about 1.5" to 2" and still run these tires with no modifications.
Matty2Hotty
I'm on 18x8.5 +35 with stock then swapped to 04 STI shocks with lowering springs stil with no issues. I did roll my rears when am lowered now with my wagon.
Stang70Fastback
I don't mean to jack the thread, but I am currently running new 16" Sport Edition A7 wheels which I think have a +50 offset. Looks good, but the tires scrape on something whenever I make a quick sharp turn in the parking lot. For the life of me, though, I can't at all figure out WHERE. Does anyone with more experience with wheels have any idea where would be the likely spot?
TbirdMan
look at the front wheel arches, I had to roll mine with stock height and wheels and tires a bit wider than stock.
