sconti
So i was driving today and heard the loudest squeaking noise I have ever heard from a car!! It sounded like a brake squeaker or the brakes squeaking but I took my wheels off to check brake pad wear and its all good all the way around. Its my first Turbo motor and So I have read that a turbo fan can make a squeaking noise too? Any ideas?!?! I couldn't really check my wheel bearings because I couldnt get all four of my wheels off the ground at the same time. BUT my main concern is if its the turbo fan/motor?? How do I check it and How do I repair it?? PLEASE ANY IDEAS!! I have an 05 GT with 68K. THANKS!!!
sachilles
Does it only make the noise when you move, or does it do it with the car stationary? Hard to diagnose with the information given. Perhaps a quick cell phone video, so we can hear the sound? Give us something so we can help you.
torinalth
aye, a bit vague. like noted above. is the sound constant while the car is on? does the pitch change with car speed? with RPM? sound at idle? when revving at idle? go away or lessen when clutch pedal is pressed lightly? fully? what was the last thing done to the car? anything? new tires? wheel rotation? brakes? anything touched? I know the 05 LGT has a tendancy to eat the stock turbo around 60k.... but dunno wht that sounds like to help there.... I had a similar sound that was the dust shield dragging against the rotor that only sounded when it got hot after around 10 min of highway driving....
