very silly question about uppipe

Hi all)

It is really silly question.

Is there the way to know if uppipe was gutted without unistalling it ?

Just about situation : soon as I get my e-tune map will go to change DP, and also want to change uppipe to one from sti the same time, but brother of the previous owner of the car said ,that his brother maybe has gutted uppipe, he is not sure, and there are no way to ask previous owner now..

 

I will not be changing UP and DP by myself - because it's winter and I have no place for that.

And to unistall ,look at uppipe I will pay money.

I dont want to pay twice or buy sti uppipe ,or loose time if my uppipe was already gutted,because its Christmas soon and I need billions of cash for presents ,etc:spin:

 

I know that it sound unreal,but maybe there is the simple way or something)

P.S by the way - sti uppipe and 05 LGT uppipe has any differents exept the cat?

You can always just pull the passenger side manifold and stick something up the uppipe to feel if the cat is there. You might be able to get away with reusing the gaskets, but I'd personally replace them. (Lower UP gasket, Manifold-to-head gasket, crossover gasket)
