tbperry
figured this out - was my clutch getting hot, i have never had this problem before and had no idea what it smelled like, so i am glad thats all it was! i'll be replacing after a few more thousand miles anyway
mattg
Never heard of an AP causing that kind of problem. Did you connect the green connectors before you flashed the base map? Did you disconnect them after? Maybe the alternator is going out?
tbperry
yep i connected and then disconnected those. is it possible that it is just working harder and it just isn't used to the new map yet?
tbperry
is it possible it is my clutch getting hot? it is still the factory clutch and i have 97K on the car, after getting on it pretty hard could it just be wearing out?
robitrice
burning wires and clutch have a very distinct smell difference IMO. Clucth being on the far stinkier side. I would check all obvious wired connections for any exposed wires where they could be shorting out.
