SCHM1AN
I got a set of 4 winter wheels and tires from a local guy who owned an OBXT. Stock size on the Legacy is 215/45/17 whereas on the Outback it's a 225/50/17, so that results in a 3" greater diameter on the tire. I put the wheels and tires on last night, and on my way to work they started to rub in the rear. Needless to say I am going to put the 3/8" saggy butt spacers on, but I was wondering if anyone else has successfully run 225/50/17s on their Legacy? krzyss
I bet 2010+ Legacies can run this size. Krzys
whitetiger
if you are running them n stock wheels with the +55 offset, thats whay they rub. outback wheels use a lower offset i believe will aid running that size.
BAC5.2
05-09 Outbacks have 225/55/17's on 17x7 +48's. I have Bilstein's on my car, and they fit. SCHM1AN
I got a set of Fittipaldi rims which had the tires mounted on them. I can't find any concrete information about the offset, but I think they're 38mm or 40mm. They definitely stick out a little further than the stock setup. I just ordered a set of 3/8" spacers and the longer bolts from Fastwrx.com which should be here sometime later next week. Until then I might consider swapping my wheels back to avoid any further rubbing.
specialB
Running 225/45/18's on my summer tires (spec b wheels) and use 225/50/17's on factory WRX wheels and they do rub in the back ever so slightly when I'm loaded up with ski gear and my buddies in the car. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y89/Max00racer/tirecomp.jpg
