spin360
Sorry for the number of threads I've started in this section, I am really having a lot of difficulty deciding on which car to get. I am down to two choices... #1: 2007 LGT w/73k miles, stock, manual, extended warranty to 100k/6 yrs. Haven't looked at it yet but the owner says it's in excellent condition. Approx. a 4 hour drive away. We agreed at $16k. #2: 2007 Acura TL Type-S w/59k miles, stock, auto. It's certified pre-owned so there's bumper-to-bumper warranty for 12 months and then powertrain up to 100k or 7 years. I am going out to look at it this afternoon but I presume it's in great condition given it's selling as certified at an Acura dealership. They're offering it at $20k (knocked down from $22k), plus giving me $2500 for my trade-in (worth $1k at most). Out the door I'm looking at $18,800 with tax, title, and processing fee. What would you do? I realize the answers may be a bit biased given it's a Legacy forum...
spin360
I also want to state that reliability and high build quality is very important to me...

AZP Installs
Legacy has the AWD and some performance to it. Acura TL has some better interior and HP (if I remember right). There are a few known issues with the Legacy like turbos going at around 70k, suspension bushings ripping and some other misc issues. Acura/Honda have motor mount issues and tend to have odd ball things go for no reason like power steering pumps. If it is down to a few grand one way or another then get what you want. If you want a daily driver than you can drive forever, get the TL and drive it into the ground or get the Legacy and be prepared to spend money on proper maintenance for a turbo car. -Jake http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us. LosAngelesLGT
Have you DRIVEN a LGT? Have you DRIVEN a TL? Don't entertain a $15k+ purchase without driving both cars. Find a local TL for sale and try it and drive to the LGT. You will immediately know as they drive very differently.
spin360
Driven an auto LGT (no manuals for sale around here) and plenty of TLs. In terms of refinement, the TL obviously wins here. The auto LGT felt quick but lacking in amenities. The TL-S sold on Sunday yet is still listed for sale on their website. Even had two of their employees call to confirm I was coming to see that particular car. I was not a happy camper when I got there. Definitely won't be buying from those asshats. I'm still a bit iffy on if I should be paying $16k for a high mileage car...
spin360
FYI ended up getting an 08 TL. I appreciate everyone's help here! I do plan on getting some sort of Subie in the future, either an LGT or WRX. Though not until I can pay some of this TL off haha.
