GraffitiRR
So I have a 2008 LGT with just an intake and turbo back. Factory clutch started to slip under boost in 4th and 5th gear. I went with the Spec stage 2+ and their lightweight flywheel. I put about 600 miles on the clutch of both highway and stop and go traffic before beating on the car. I have put about 2500 miles total on the clutch, and the more I drive it, the louder it gets. When decelerating in any gear the clutch sounds horrific. The best way for me to describe it would be to say bolts are dancing around in the bell housing, although I know thats not the issue. The noise only occurs on decel, in gear, foot off the clutch. Is this a common issue? This is my first performance clutch so Im not sure what to expect. I do plan on calling Spec tomorrow but would also like some other input. Thanks in advance
TRSCobra
Search decel noise. This is a very common issue, especially with a LWFW. Mine has the 06-07 WRX single mass FW and a Spec 2+ clutch. Makes the same noise.
scoobie2.0
As TRSCobra said, its caused by the lightweight flyhweel. Its not a problem or defect so you're ok. If it really annoys you, you could always go back to a stock flywheel.
