Zac88
Should I be worried? Car is still running fine.
ehsnils
P2016 - TGV Bank 1. Probably just a bad sensor, and if you don't experience any performance problems it's probably just that either the TGV valves are stuck open or the sensor is dead. No danger to your engine, just that it might be a bit harder to start when it's cold and that your emissions are a bit worse when you just have started the engine. Zac88
Thanks! Had a friend clear the code but it came back right away. Do I need a new sensor?
ehsnils
You need to figure out if it is the sensor or a mechanical issue, but you can remove the sensor and start the engine cold and then see if the pin the sensor mounts on moves when you push the throttle. (or rather have a friend start the engine cold and push the throttle.) Or you can just buy a new sensor, mount it and see if it helps. Just be aware that the sensor is mounted with pre-tension. Zac88
I wonder if there is a DIY somewhere on how to replace it. What do u mean its pre-tension
bighaus90
I wonder if there is a DIY somewhere on how to replace it. What do u mean its pre-tension pre-tension as in as soon as you pull the sensor off it will spin so if you go to put it back on you have to clock it by putting it on then spinning it. Zac88
So are their marks or something that show how to spin it?
ehsnils
No marks, but there are only possibilities in 1/4:s of a turn to mount it. Easiest is to take it easy when remove the existing and let it turn itself to the untensioned position, but if I remember right it's just a 1/4 turn pre-tension. Zac88
ok I found the problem! The sensor is actually broken, must have broken it while removing my banjo bolt filters. Now I need to find out where to buy one and how to install it!
