I got over bumps and I here clunk clunk from the driver side, I was certain they my struts but have research and some say maybe sway bars are causing the noise...I have 75k milesn, so my question is how can you tell the difference from the noise if its the sway bars gone bad or struts?

I'd be fairly sure it was your endlinks. Mine clunked from the factory!

Control arm bushings

Bingo.

The rear ones, specifically.

Not really. You need to buy the bushing, then have the time to swap it, then go get an alignment.

Endlinks you can do in the driveway.

With any sort of clunk the best idea is to find out consistently when it happens. If it only happens on compression of the suspension I would check the struts for leaking, endlinks for loose bolts, and bushings for ripping or wear in general. If you can, get the car on jack stands and see if the wheel has any play in it.

Mine did that ... shocks were worn but when replaces, clunk was still there. Replaces endlinks and now it's gone! Mechanic said that the bushings were worn too but the noise came from the endlinks. I went with OEM stuff ... wife's car (and she's preggers with our 2nd so can't even think of modifying the suspension in any way now).

I've had the clunk for a long time now. Upgraded the sway bar and end-links the clunck remained. I won't notice the clunk for a day or 2 and then it comes back. AZP is replacing struts and bushings in a few weeks... fingers crossed.

You can get stock endlinks for less than $30. If you're going through the trouble to replace them, you might as well get a beefier aftermarket endlink. If it's not the source of your clunck, at least you'll get better handling over the flimsy stockers.
