hiredkiller88
Ok I searched and searched on the forum but couldn't seem to find anything...here's the deal. Whenever I start moving from a stop, it sounds like something shifts forward or maybe backward, and then when I stop, it goes back the other way. It always happens before I hit about 15 mph when accelerating, and happens right before I actually come to a stop. It sounds like it comes from right under the shifter somewhere. My car is an automatic, 2009 2.5 SE. Thanks for any suggestions!

brad_houck
the best and easiest way to find rattles i found is to remove all your stuff from inside the vehicle. that eliminates any loose change or something rolling around etc. may be a pita but it does help in searching for a rattle that isnt coming from the car. hiredkiller88
update on this already dead thread haha....took it in to the dealer today. they blamed it on the safety lockout switch engaging and disengaging...the same switch that prevents you from throwing it into reverse on the freeway. first car i've ever heard of where you can actually hear this thing actuate.... kinda strange. the mechanic said that he drove other similarly equipped vehicles with the same noise present. weird. at least i got a good sound system to keep me from hearing it most of the time.
