96 Subaru Legacy noise

Recommended Posts

So i just bought this car yesterday

It makes a loud noise coming from the front when driving

I thought maybe it was CV boot but there seems to be no damage to the boot or "clicking" when I turn the car

A friend suggested that I check the rotors and pads as they maybe be vibrating so bad becuase they look rusted

ANY THOUGHTS

if its a mid high pitched whine its your transmission going out, im putting a new one in now due to the last owner using FWD too much in turn ruining the solenoid and transfer clutch. It started to torque bind REALLY REALLY BAD and eventually slipped to the point where it wouldnt move anymore. GL

Yeah, that's the engine. It's normal for it to make noise while driving.

Seriously though, you are going to have to be more descriptive about the noise if you want any useful help from people who can't see, smell, hear, touch or taste your car.

I am not sure how to describe the engine noise

I drove it 120 miles from where I bought it...the transmission seemed to shift fine when I was driving

Thanks guys I will get back to you when I drive it again

I am replacing the rotors becuase they have as must rust as your grandmas panties do

and I will be back and let you know

THANKS
