Where did you mount your microphone? I was thinking of putting it on the top of the A-pillar?

I mounted mine right next to the rear-view. Tucked the wire under the liner along the top of the windshield, down the passenger a-pillar and behind/under the glovebox. No need to take the glovebox out, just tucked it up behind the plastic and under the plastic into the radio cavity.

I shaved the clip part of the mic off and made it a flat(ish) surface and used 3M Dual Lock to mount it onto the windshield between the rear-view and the head liner. No one has ever complained about not being able to hear me, even with the sunroof open.

Sounds good. Do you have a pic of your mic location and of your ashtray-dock?

Just ordered one. I've wanted this for a while, and now it's about half the price it was when I first considered it.

I just got the one Respect listed. It was worth $15 to have only a single order to worry about.

I'm sick of my current aux setup buzzing all the time. Hopefully I won't have issues with auto-pairing, but we will find out next week. I also hope there are no iOS5 compatibility issues, I'll be doing that upgrade tomorrow.

Please ignore the dust, debris and crud which were captured quite well by the flash of the camera....

The "dock" is just one of these [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-passPORT-Charging-Adapter-iPhone/dp/B001HN6CVA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318339227&sr=8-1]Scosche passPort [/ame]glued into a hole I cut in the bottom of the coin tray. The tray pops out easy enough and just used a dremel cut a hole and some clear silicone to mount the thing in there. The female side of the passPort is plugged into a plain ol' 12V iphone charger plugged into the 12v in the arm rest.

The reason I used this passPort thing is because it doesn't have "dock locks" like some cables do and require you to squeeze the sides to release. I originally had the iPod cable from the iSimple plugged into the bottom of it for a wired connection when I was using my iPod touch before I got the iPhone. The cable that comes with the iSimple has those tiny locks on the iPod plug and glued into the "dock" would have been impossible to unlock it. Hence, the passPort. Once I moved to using the A2DP connection instead of the wired connection, I just swapped the iSimple cable to the 12V charger and the dock is now just a charging dock and music is streamed via bluetooth instead.

The mic I ended up using was not the one that came with the iSimple kit. Before I had the iSimple bluetooth add-on, I installed this [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Clarion-RCB199-External-Cancellation-Microphone/dp/B0013BW96S/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1318340107&sr=1-1]Clarion Noise Cancelling Mic[/ame] which was plugged into the Garmin GPS unit I have installed in the cubby. The combination of running phone through the Garmin and iPod through the iSimple (at the time I was using a WinMo phone) was sort of cumbersome. I ended up getting the iSimple bluetooth add-on and just used the mic i already had mounted. They both just use a standard 3.5MM mic jack, so no big deal.

Of note, the iSimple bluetooth add-on did work very well with my Treo Pro (Win Mo 6.1) before I had the iPhone. So even though it is marketed as an iPhone accessory, it will work with other phones as well.
