KevinSoD
Sounds good, just remember to read the directions several times and be patient and deliberate. The wagon smoked taillight kit's are certainly a lot harder to install than the sedan versions because of the very strong compound curve. Your patience will be rewarded. Good Luck! http://www.hot-subaru.com http://www.pcpcdallas.com
OBXT709
Headlights were tedious, but worth it. Tails were a completely different story! First one went on with a long of fingers in the last 1/4th, figured 2nd one (my fourth application, counting headlights and 1st tail) would be easier. I don't know if it didn't fit correctly, but I had to cut the last part about 1/2" and fold it over, which doesn't look great close up, but it just wouldn't fit after about 1 hour of trying to get it to. Still looks good from far. Will post again with pics from far and close, then a few weeks later to see if the initial bubbles go away like it says in the instructions. All in all, headlights, recommended, tails, only for the super patient. Overall, about 3 hours to install!
KevinSoD
Glad to hear you got them on! As a note, on the final side (hatch opening) we included a full length 'handling tab' to make getting the final fingers down easier. Once the material is down and wrapped into the hatch it is trimmed off as per the directions. If we built it without such a pull tab they would be even harder to install. If you go back and look at the launch posts for the sedan tails (where a lot of wagon owners felt left out) we said the wagon version would be much harder due to the multiplicity of compound curves involved and that if enough people wanted them we would look into designing them. Just for fun take a sheet of newsprint and lay it on the taillight and see how well it fits without any bunched material (fingers). Now the 17mil high performance vinyl we use is very compliant when warm (warm not molten.. if it it too hot to hold it is too hot to work with) and thus conforms to the lens, but it does require effort and patience. From this close up you can see that they do look good when they are done! http://www.pcpcdallas.com//images/film/outback-tail-pop.jpg Good luck with your installs, your patience will be rewarded! Oh, not sure if you were the one that also picked up the reverse light and turn signal integrated into the mirrors kits too, but they are much easier to install~! http://www.hot-subaru.com http://www.pcpcdallas.com
