akustumz Posted July 1, 2004 Author Posted July 1, 2004 mind explaining?? like okay i mean an ej20 from a wrx.
EJ20H-TT Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 No personal experience but I am told that mounting points, transmission etc is all easier if u use an early WRX engine than say a late model one. It still can be done but just more probs to solve.
evolutionmovement Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Wiring is easier. If you're looking at OBDII into OBDI equipped car (like USDM WRX), the wiring will be more difficult. If you're talking about overseas (Japan, Australia, GBR import) then the wiring will be different either way and I have no idea what they use for an OBD-type set up. Best bet in all regards would be a USDM Legacy turbo engine (EJ22T). All EJ series mechanically fit - even a USDM WRX engine will bolt to an older tranny, I think there's a couple extra bolts on the newer engine, but it's supposedly not an issue. There have even been (at least one) guy who fit an H6 3.0 and I've heard SVX engine also, but that's a strip-the-car-down kind of wiring job never mind custom brackets, etc. Steve.
akustumz Posted July 6, 2004 Author Posted July 6, 2004 oh alright...just curious, not too serious jus curious. Maybe a future project after i get outta school.
