M5 Debut in Melbourne, Australia

Recommended Posts

G'Day Everyone.

Well the M5 has FINALLY been released here in Melbourne, Australia. This is the first BMW M5 available in the whole of Australasia. The launch was held tonight at Bib Stillwell BMW in front of a 250+ strong crowd. Before the M5 was unveiled, we were shown a short DVD of the M5 in action which certainly was well put together but the real show started when they unveiled the new E60 2005 M5.

This M5 was painted in Sepang Bronze Metallic (some of you may remember me talking about this colour some months ago); in pictures this colour doesn’t look as spectacular as in does in the flesh. I got the opportunity to sit in the drivers seat which is very comfortable and has more adjustments available than a Jet Fighter. The seating position just feels so right and you really do feel you are at the command post. A nice little feature is the '+' & '-' signs actually light up when you have the driving or fog lights on, the head-up display certainly looks fantastic, can only imagine what it looks like when the V10 is at full song.

There was no starting of the M5 but when they lifted the bonnet/hood, you could tell that it has been driven earlier in the day. There were certainly a lot of ooohhh's and arrrrr's, better known as the WOW Factor.

Price ONROAD = AUD242,500.00 / USD186,120.00

IF the E39 wooed the crowds before, well they are in for a real treat when they get behind the wheel of the New E60 2005 M5. Congratulations to BMW and the M Division for developing an M that both has the goods and looks the business. Also a big thank you to Bib Stillwell BMW for putting on a fantastic evening.

Ada///M.
