TheBlubaru
My rims are in need of paint so I was planning on painting the spokes RBP to match the car. Any opinions? i photoshopped the rims to be more or less RBP and I also have a pic of the rims in chrome how they sit now. The only other thing I was considering was painting the spokes black but I am open to suggestions. quick4dr
if DIY, good prep is what shines through at the end. I have painted a few sets of wheels of the years and compared to friends jobs 10x better because of good prep. Wet sanding is key. Lots of it. Take the time to smooth any curb rash, and clean the barrels well, paint them black to truelly make the face of the rim pop. Use good paint (i.e.the grimmspeed gold lays awesome!) aside from good even coats of paint, clear coat will seal the deal. Even light coats- don't go over board. Stand back and admire DIY wheels!! If you don't have a good place with stable humidity to lay clear coat (yes it matters) most body shops will clear rims for about 15-20 a piece.
