Sublimejoe
Is an Outback considered a Multi-Use Passenger Vehicle? I just got pulled over for tint and I need to figure that out because if it is considered one I am legally allowed to have a darker tint than a standard car. BAC5.2
Not in MD, unfortunately. Check your tag. I don't know about VA, but in MD MPV's have a tag with an M as the first character. Ah thats not the case in VA, I guess I will have to check on my title or something. I am working on getting a waiver through the DMV, I just need to find an optometrist that will say my eyes are sensitive to the sun, which they really are. Danteneon
Is an Outback considered a Multi-Use Passenger Vehicle? I just got pulled over for tint and I need to figure that out because if it is considered one I am legally allowed to have a darker tint than a standard car. If you check out the DMV's web site, they have the info there... http://www.dmv.virginia.gov/webdoc/citizen/medical/sunshading.asp Being a Multi-use vehicle has no bearing on the front windows, only the rear. To get any darker in the front on any car, you need to use the med-20 form on the link I posted. But as an answer to your question about multi use...no, it isn't. Unless it can be taged as a truck (and the Outback can't because it doesn't have enough interior cargo capacity) it doesn't qualify as multi use. I like to cook my pets and my family. Use commas. ssbtech
50% is pretty generous without a medical note, no?
hakalugi
50% is pretty generous without a medical note, no? not really. the rears in VA can be 35% (the number = allowed light, so lower = darker). I have seen this link posted before: http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/VA/ and it does state that an suv/van can go darker than 35% in the back... it even uses a crossover as the "suv" -- but doesn't mention the mpv and other req's. i'm getting my 50/35 done tomorrow, figured i'd stay with sedan limits even tho i have a OBXT wagon - so this is on my mind.
