2LGT2QUIT
So I recently jumped into the world of Subaru (Legacy GT) after driving VWs/Audis for my entire life...I haven't looked back since. Now my husband has been thinking about one as well. I know that back a few years ago they made a Forester 2.5XT with a 5sp, and I was wondering if there was any news on that drivetrain/tranny combo coming back? Sorry if this has been asked before...just curious. Thanks in advance.
ShrinerMonkey
That combo is most likely gone for good as it barely sold. 4sp auto only...avoid.
2LGT2QUIT
Planned on it...no intention of purchasing an automatic anything...ever. We are looking at certified pre-owned, they are damn hard to come by.

If they are hard to find - consider it a good sign. Over here the Forester is available in both 5MT with the gasoline engine and 6MT with the diesel engine. Gelacy
It should be noted that the Subaru Forester is now the only turbocharged vehicle that has an automatic transmission option (well, it's standard rather than an option) in the Subaru fleet for the USDM. I'm glad they kept it that way. No offense to Subaru but I don't like their 5 speed even if it is a manual. Automatic eff tee dubeyou.
